My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2, known in Japan as Vigilante: My Hero Academia Illegals, aired 13 episodes from January 5 to March 30, 2026, and Crunchyroll streamed it worldwide outside Asia with a same-day English dub. Koichi Haimawari is still no licensed hero. He is a college kid in a hoodie who helps people on the streets of Naruhata without permission, and Season 2 drags that small-time vigilante life into a much bigger world. It goes to Osaka, back to U.A. High in the years before the main series, and right up to the edge of a choice Koichi cannot keep postponing.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule
Season 2 premiered on Monday, January 5, 2026, on Tokyo MX, and its finale, Episode 26, aired on March 30. The season runs from Episode 14 to Episode 26, picking up directly after Season 1, which aired from April to June 2025. Bones Film produced it again, with Kenichi Suzuki directing and Yosuke Kuroda writing the series.
Crunchyroll vs. Ani-One: Where to Watch
Crunchyroll streams both seasons of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes worldwide except Asia, with subtitles and the English dub. In South and Southeast Asia, Ani-One Asia carried the series. In Japan, it aired on Tokyo MX and other stations, and the official anime site has the full broadcast list.
Broadcast Time & Episode Rollout
New episodes aired every Monday at 10:00 p.m. JST, and Crunchyroll streamed them as they aired in Japan. The English dub was same-day too, which is rare and why "English dub release date" searches dropped off fast once the season started. Every Monday you could pick your language and watch.

The schedule was easy. The harder question for a lot of viewers was where this story even sits in My Hero Academia.
Vigilantes Season 2 Plot: Illegal Heroes in a Legal Hero Society
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is a prequel. It takes place about five years before Izuku Midoriya enters U.A. High, when All Might is at his peak and the hero system looks unbeatable from the outside. Koichi, Pop☆Step and Knuckleduster work in the gaps that system leaves: unlicensed, unpaid and technically criminals every time they help someone. Season 2 widens the map. The quirk-boosting drug Trigger is still spreading, the story makes a trip to Osaka and meets pro heroes like Fat Gum, and Captain Celebrity, the American hero living in Naruhata, keeps reminding everyone what a "real" hero is supposed to look like.
The Aizawa Student Arc: U.A. Before the Main Series
The middle of the season steps back in time for the Aizawa student arc, which began on February 9 and ran through Episode 21. It follows a teenage Shota Aizawa at U.A. High with his classmates Oboro Shirakumo, Hizashi Yamada and Nemuri Kayama, years before they become Eraser Head, Present Mic and Midnight. If you have watched the main series, you already know why this arc hurts. If you have not, it still works as a story about the friend who taught a gloomy kid how to be a hero.
The season then returns to the present for its finale, "Graduation and Career Paths," which forces Koichi to ask whether he can stay a vigilante forever.
Koichi, Pop☆Step and Knuckleduster: The Cast of Season 2
Koichi's quirk is Glide, a modest ability that lets him slide along the ground, and he is still called "The Crawler." Pop☆Step is a self-styled idol who stages guerrilla street performances with her Leap quirk, and Knuckleduster is a masked vigilante who hunts criminals with his fists. Shuichiro Umeda voices Koichi, Ikumi Hasegawa voices Pop☆Step and Yasuhiro Mamiya voices Knuckleduster. In the English dub, Jack Broadbent plays Koichi, Macy Anne Johnson plays Pop and Christopher Wehkamp plays Aizawa, with Kyle Hebert as Fat Gum and Manuel Aragon directing. Here is the Season 2 cast with their Japanese voice actors (CV).
Koichi Haimawari (CV: Shuichiro Umeda)
A college student who gave up on becoming a pro hero and helps people anyway. His Glide quirk earned him the nickname "The Crawler."
Pop☆Step (CV: Ikumi Hasegawa)
A self-proclaimed idol who performs unlicensed street shows using her Leap quirk.
Knuckleduster (CV: Yasuhiro Mamiya)
A masked vigilante who calls himself a "cleaner" of scum and trains Koichi the hard way.
Captain Celebrity (CV: Toshiyuki Morikawa)
A flashy American hero living in Naruhata, as famous for his ego as for his flight.
Fat Gum (CV: Kazuyuki Okitsu)
A cheerful Osaka-based pro hero whose quirk absorbs impacts into his body.
Naomasa Tsukauchi (CV: Tokuyoshi Kawashima)
A police detective and All Might's trusted friend, investigating Trigger.
Makoto Tsukauchi (CV: Asami Seto)
Naomasa's younger sister, and a police officer in her own right.
The Scar-Faced Man (CV: Taku Yashiro)
A mysterious figure whose identity the season keeps under wraps.
Shota Aizawa (student) (CV: Junichi Suwabe)
The future Eraser Head as a quiet U.A. student, years before he teaches Class 1-A.
Oboro Shirakumo (CV: Kensho Ono)
Aizawa's cheerful classmate and best friend, who dreams of running a hero agency with him.
Hizashi Yamada (student) (CV: Hiroyuki Yoshino)
The future Present Mic, already loud as a student.
Nemuri Kayama (student) (CV: Akeno Watanabe)
The future Midnight, an upperclassman who looks out for Aizawa's group.
All Might (CV: Kenta Miyake)
The Symbol of Peace at the height of his career, the hero Koichi grew up idolizing.
The cast keeps growing because the story does. The manga is finished, and the anime has adapted only part of it.
Manga Guide: Where the Anime Picks Up
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes is written by Hideyuki Furuhashi and drawn by Betten Court, based on Kohei Horikoshi's original series. It ran from 2016 to 2022 and is complete at 126 chapters in 15 volumes, all published in English by VIZ Media. Season 1 covered roughly the first four volumes, and Season 2 continued through the Osaka material and the Aizawa student arc, so around half of the manga is still unadapted.
That is enough for at least one more season, but no Season 3 has been announced as of October 2026, and the Season 2 finale ended without a renewal message. The good news is that the manga is finished, so you can read the full story now, including how Koichi's path finally connects to the world of the main series.
