'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess Season 2 aired 12 episodes from January 12 to March 30, 2026, and it streams on Crunchyroll across most of the world. The joke has not changed, and that is the point. The captured Princess, Commander of the Royal Army's Third Order, still faces the Demon Army's worst interrogation methods: fluffy fresh toast, late-night ramen and afternoons with adorable animals. She still breaks almost every time. What Season 2 changes is how much this cast has started to care about each other, and how little anyone on either side wants the war to end the way wars usually do.

'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess Season 2 Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule

Season 2 premiered on Monday, January 12, 2026, on TOKYO MX, BS11 and Kansai TV, and its 12th episode aired on March 30. That is two years after Season 1, which ran from January to March 2024. PINE JAM animated both seasons, with Yoko Kanamori directing, Keiichiro Ochi on series composition and Masaru Yokoyama on music.

Crunchyroll vs. Ani-One Asia: Where to Watch

Crunchyroll streams Season 2 in North America, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS region, the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. Ani-One Asia also carries it in parts of Asia. If you searched "tis time for torture princess english dub release date," the honest answer is that Crunchyroll has not announced an English dub for Season 2, so the new episodes are subtitled.

Broadcast Time & Episode Rollout

Episodes aired weekly on Monday nights in Japan and landed on Crunchyroll the same day. Like Season 1, each episode is a run of short "torture" sessions, so you can drop in anywhere, but the season does build to a few bigger moments near the end.

Opening"Sunday Morning" by ILLITPerformed by K-pop group ILLIT.
Ending"Ohime-sama ni wa Narenai" by YuikaThe title means "I Can't Be a Princess."

That ending title, "I Can't Be a Princess," is the most searched song from the season, and it is a sly wink at the show's heroine, who keeps failing to act like the noble captive she is supposed to be.

Season 2 Plot: The Gentlest War in Anime Gets Personal

The premise is the same. The Kingdom and the Demon Army are at war, and the Princess, a knight commander, is their prisoner. Torture Tortura, the Demon Army's Supreme Interrogator, is tasked with breaking her to learn the Kingdom's secrets. Her methods are delicious food, warm baths, games and cute animals. The Princess resists, cracks and gives up a secret that turns out to be useless. Everyone goes home happy.

Season 2 plays with that formula more than Season 1 did. One storyline wipes the Princess's memories of her previous "torture" sessions, so she has to fall for every trick all over again. Another sends an intruder into the castle with real violence in mind, and suddenly the cozy Demon Army has to protect its prisoner. The friction this season is not whether the Princess will break. It is whether this odd little found family can stay safe in a world that is still technically at war.

New Faces: Sakura Heartrock, Hamu-chan and Penta

Season 2 adds new characters to the castle, including Sakura Heartrock, voiced by Mutsumi Tamura, plus Hamu-chan, voiced by Yukari Tamura, and Penta, voiced by Tomokazu Sugita. They bring new "torture" styles and new reasons for the Princess to lose her composure, and they make the castle feel even more like a home than a prison.

The new arrivals also show how big this world has become. Season 1 mostly stayed inside the castle. Season 2 spends more time with the Demon Army's everyday life, its food, its holidays and its families, and the more you see of it, the harder it is to believe anyone on this side is the villain.

Which brings us to the two characters the whole show is built on.

The Princess and Torture Tortura: Why the Duo Works

The Princess and Torture Tortura are the best comedy pairing PINE JAM has. Tortura is the professional who genuinely wants to do her job well. The Princess is the professional who genuinely wants to resist. They both fail, and they both enjoy failing more than they will admit. Is it a yuri? No. Their bond is a friendship, and the show's warmth comes from everyone, Demon Lord included, treating each other like neighbors instead of enemies.

Here are the main characters with their Japanese voice actors (CV):

  • The Princess (CV: Haruka Shiraishi): the captured knight commander who keeps breaking over food.
  • Ex (CV: Chikahiro Kobayashi): the Princess's talking holy sword, permanently disappointed in her.
  • Torture Tortura (CV: Shizuka Itou): the Demon Army's Supreme Interrogator.
  • Mao Mao-chan (CV: Rina Hidaka): the Demon Lord's young daughter.
  • The Demon Lord (CV: Tessho Genda): a doting father who is very bad at being menacing.
  • Youki (CV: Anna Nagase) and Inki (CV: Honoka Inoue): the demon twins who join the interrogations.
  • Sakura Heartrock (CV: Mutsumi Tamura): one of Season 2's new arrivals.

The cast is still growing, but the story they come from has already ended.

Manga Guide: Where the Anime Picks Up

'Tis Time for "Torture," Princess is based on the manga written by Robinson Haruhara and drawn by Hirakei, serialized on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ from April 4, 2019, to August 19, 2025. So, is the Torture Princess manga finished? Yes. It ended after six years, and it is complete in 19 volumes in Japan. English readers can find it on Shueisha's MANGA Plus.

  • Season 1 (12 episodes, 2024) adapts the early chapters and introduces the core cast.
  • Season 2 (12 episodes, 2026) carries on with more of the Demon Army and adds new characters.
  • What is left: the manga's later volumes, including how the war between the Kingdom and the Demon Army finally ends.

The ending of the manga is the one question the anime has not answered, and it is a good reason to hope for a third season.
