MF Ghost Season 3 aired 13 episodes from January 4 to March 29, 2026, and it streams on Crunchyroll with an English dub. Round 3 of the MFG, the Peninsula Manazuru, starts with Kanata Katagiri in trouble: an elbow injury right before the final means he cannot use second gear, and the field starts passing him one car at a time. Then something wakes up in him. The finale also confirmed what fans had been asking since Season 1: the next season of MF Ghost will be the last.
MF Ghost Season 3 Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule
MF Ghost Season 3 premiered on TV on Sunday, January 4, 2026, on TOKYO MX and BS NTV, and its finale aired on March 29. Prime Video in Japan streamed each episode three days early, from January 1. Felix Film animated it again, with Tomohito Naka directing, Kenichi Yamashita on series composition, and Naoyuki Onda designing the characters and supervising the animation.
Crunchyroll vs. Prime Video: Where to Watch
Crunchyroll is the home of MF Ghost outside Japan, with all three seasons available. Season 3 episodes landed on Crunchyroll on Thursdays at 7:30 a.m. PT, matching the early Prime Video release in Japan, so international fans did not have to wait for the TV broadcast. In Japan, Prime Video is the place to stream. In the Middle East and North Africa, Shahid also carries Season 3.
Broadcast Time & Episode Rollout
The English dub started on Crunchyroll on January 22, 2026, with Kieran Flitton as Kanata and Trisha Mellon as Ren, and it followed the Japanese version a few weeks behind for the rest of the season.

Thirteen episodes, one round. Earlier seasons fit two rounds into 12 episodes, so this is the most time the anime has spent on a single race. It gives the Peninsula Manazuru the room it needs.
Peninsula Manazuru Plot: Kanata Races Without Second Gear
MF Ghost is set in a near future where electric cars have taken over Japan and the old gasoline engines survive only in the MFG, a street-racing series on public roads, founded by Initial D's Ryosuke Takahashi. Kanata Katagiri, a young Japanese-British driver in a Toyota 86, came to Japan to race and to find his father.
Season 3 is the final day of the MFG's third round, the Peninsula Manazuru, a seaside course with tight, technical corners. That suits Kanata, because his light 86 is outgunned on the straights and has to win in the bends. Then he hurts his elbow just before the final and cannot shift into second gear. In a race decided by corners, losing second gear is close to losing the race. Rivals pass him. The commentators write him off. And Kanata, who usually races with a calm, almost polite smile, finds a side of himself that is not polite at all.
The Rivals: Beckenbauer, Akaba and the MFG Top Tier
The Peninsula Manazuru brings the MFG's heavy hitters together. Michael Beckenbauer, the German ace in his Porsche, remains the benchmark everyone chases. Kaito Akaba, Fujin Ishigami and Daigo Oishi each bring a different style of racing, and the season shows how the rest of the field adapts to a Kanata who no longer looks unbeatable. Every overtake is a puzzle, and the show's CG racing makes the lines easy to follow even if you have never watched a motorsport.
And behind all of it is the question longtime fans keep asking: where is Takumi?
Kanata, Ren and the Ghost of Initial D
Why isn't Takumi in MF Ghost? Because this is Kanata's story. Takumi Fujiwara, the hero of Initial D, is Kanata's mentor. He taught Kanata to drive in the UK, and his influence is all over Kanata's style, but creator Shuichi Shigeno keeps him off the track so his student can stand on his own. Initial D faces still appear: Ryosuke and Keisuke Takahashi and other familiar names from the old series show up around the MFG. Here are the key characters with their Japanese voice actors (CV):
- Kanata Katagiri / Kanata Rivington (CV: Yuma Uchida; English: Kieran Flitton): the Toyota 86 driver searching for his father.
- Ren Saionji (CV: Ayane Sakura; English: Trisha Mellon): one of the MFG Angels, and the person closest to Kanata as he searches for his father.
- Michael Beckenbauer (CV: Hiroshi Kamiya): the German ace and the MFG's top driver.
- Shun Aiba (CV: Daisuke Ono): a rival driver with a big personality.
- Kaito Akaba (CV: Junichi Suwabe), Fujin Ishigami (CV: Hiroki Yasumoto) and Daigo Oishi (CV: Daisuke Namikawa): top-tier rivals in the MFG.
- Ryosuke Takahashi (CV: Takehito Koyasu) and Keisuke Takahashi (CV: Tomokazu Seki): Initial D legends, now part of the MFG world.
After Season 3, only one season is left, and the manga already tells you how much ground it has to cover.
