The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom anime premiered on January 11, 2026, and all 12 episodes stream on Crunchyroll with English subtitles and an English dub. It takes the most familiar setup in villainess isekai and skips straight to the payoff. Tiararose remembers her past life the night before the graduation party where, according to the otome game she once loved, she is supposed to be publicly condemned. The condemnation starts right on schedule. Then a prince from the neighboring kingdom walks in and asks her to be his wife.
The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule
The anime aired from January 11 to March 29, 2026, on TOKYO MX every Sunday at 11:00 p.m., with KBS Kyoto and other stations following. Studio DEEN animated it, with Takayuki Hamana directing, Yoshimi Narita on series composition and Majiro on character designs. Studio DEEN has a long history with romance and fantasy, and it treats this show the way it should be treated: as a pure, unapologetic indulgence.
Crunchyroll: Where to Watch
Crunchyroll streams the series worldwide outside Japan and China, which makes it the answer to "where to watch" for almost everyone reading this. During the broadcast, new episodes went up on Sundays at 6:30 a.m. PT (9:30 a.m. ET).
Broadcast Time & English Dub Rollout
Is there an English dub? Yes, and it is one of the show's most searched topics, from "english dub release date" to "english dub cast." Crunchyroll began streaming the dub in late January 2026. Kate Bristol voices Tiararose and Aaron Campbell voices Prince Aquasteed, with Conner Allison, Kara Edwards and Lacey Deline in the supporting cast. Caitlin Glass directed it.

| Episodes | 12 |
| Japan | TOKYO MX, Sundays 11:00 p.m. JST; KBS Kyoto and more |

| English dub | From late January 2026, Kate Bristol as Tiararose |
| Opening / Ending | "Ai no Fanfare" / "Mahou no Oto," both by Ayahi Takagaki feat. Yu Shirota |
Using the same duet for the opening and ending is a small detail that says a lot. Ayahi Takagaki is a voice actress and singer, and Yu Shirota is a star of Japanese musical theater. The show wants to feel like a romantic stage musical, and the songs set that tone before a single scene starts.
Plot: The Villainess Who Skipped Her Own Downfall
Tiararose Lapis Clementille is engaged to Hartknights, the crown prince of the Lapis Lazuli Kingdom. After graduation, she is supposed to marry him and become queen. Then she remembers her past life as a Japanese woman who loved the otome game Lapis Lazuli Ring, and realizes she has been reborn as its villainess. If the heroine, Akari, has won Hartknights's route, the only thing waiting for Tiararose is a humiliating public condemnation.
It happens. But in the middle of it, Aquasteed Marineforest, the crown prince of the neighboring kingdom, steps in and proposes. And he is the main love interest of the game's sequel, the one Tiararose never got to play.
A Sequel Game With No Walkthrough
That twist is the real hook. Most villainess stories are about escaping a doom the heroine already knows. Tiararose knows the first game perfectly, but marrying Aquasteed puts her in the sequel's territory, and she has no idea how that story goes. The romance is never in doubt, and the title says so. The tension comes from everything around it: a new kingdom, a court that has to accept her, and the magical figures who take an interest in her.
Those figures are where the cast gets crowded.
Tiararose, Aquasteed and the Characters
The main pair is voiced by Mai Fuchigami as Tiararose and Yuichiro Umehara as Aquasteed. Takuya Sato plays Hartknights, and Yumiri Hanamori plays Akari, the heroine of the first game. Searches for "tiararose" set records during the season, which makes sense: she is not a doormat. She is clever, kind and quietly stubborn, and Fuchigami gives her a warmth that keeps the show sweet without making it silly.
Several supporting voice actors return from the 2024 visual novel adaptation, which gives the anime a cast that already knows these characters. Here are four of them with their Japanese voice actors (CV):
Icilla (CV: Marina Yamada)
Icilla Pearllant, a character Marina Yamada first voiced in the game.
Keith (CV: Junichi Suwabe)
The Forest Fairy King, a role Suwabe also played in the game.
Claire (CV: Hikaru Midorikawa)
Another role carried over from the game, voiced by veteran Hikaru Midorikawa.
Pearl (CV: Ai Furihata)
Ai Furihata returns from the game to voice Pearl.
A cast this deep points to a world much bigger than 12 episodes, and the source material confirms it.
Light Novel and Manga Guide: Where the Anime Picks Up
The Villainess Is Adored by the Prince of the Neighbor Kingdom began as a web novel by Puni-chan on Shosetsuka ni Naro in March 2016. Enterbrain's B's-LOG Bunko has published it as a light novel since October 2016, illustrated by Akeno Naruse, and the series has concluded at 15 volumes as of June 2026. The franchise has sold more than 5 million copies.
- Manga: drawn by Hoshina in B's-LOG Comic since December 2017, with 18 volumes as of October 2026. This is the "manga online" many fans are searching for.
- Game: a visual novel by Operahouse for Nintendo Switch and Steam, released on March 21, 2024.
- Where the anime sits: the 12 episodes cover the opening story of Tiararose's new life. With 15 light novel volumes and 18 manga volumes, most of the story is still unadapted. Starting from Volume 1 is the best way to catch the details the anime trims.
Is There a Season 2?
No Season 2 has been announced as of October 2026. The light novel being finished helps, since a studio would know exactly where the story ends, and the English dub kept the show in front of Western audiences. For now, the books are the only way to follow Tiararose into the rest of the sequel game.
If you need another sweet romance while you wait, the search data points somewhere interesting: people looking up this show also looked up You and I Are Polar Opposites, another Winter 2026 romance that, unlike this one, already has a second season.
