How is it different from buying the singles? You get the same 31 books under one ISBN, in one box, with a poster that the single volumes do not have. Buying singles still makes sense if you already own part of the run, or if you only want to read on from where the anime stops. The box set is brand new, so check that a listing names the Complete Box Set and its ISBN before you order.

VIZ also sells Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, a separate spin-off series, and Jujutsu Kaisen: The Official Character Guide. Neither is in the Complete Box Set, and neither is needed to finish the story.

Is a Jujutsu Kaisen Manga "Full Set" Listing Real?

A Jujutsu Kaisen full set is only the official VIZ box if it is the Complete Box Set with ISBN 978-1-9747-6935-3. Other "full sets" are either real VIZ volumes bundled by a reseller or unofficial prints. These checks are specific to this series:

  • Volume count. There are 30 numbered volumes plus Volume 0. A "full set 1-31" or higher cannot exist.
  • Old boxes. The only box set on VIZ's Jujutsu Kaisen page is the Complete Box Set, released October 27, 2026. A boxed "1-21" or "1-25 complete set" is a seller's bundle, not that box.
  • Volume 0 and the poster. The official box has both. A box without Volume 0 is not the Complete Box Set.
  • Check the ISBN. Real VIZ Jujutsu Kaisen books have ISBNs starting with 978-1-9747, and the copyright page says VIZ Media. Compare the back cover with VIZ's page for that volume.
  • Too cheap. 31 brand-new books far below the price of the official box is the classic sign of a reprint. Thin paper, blurry text and mismatched cover art are the other giveaways.
  • Who ships it. Books sold by Amazon.com, a bookstore or VIZ are safe. A "new sealed complete set" shipped from abroad by a marketplace seller, or photos showing Japanese or Chinese editions, is the risk.

VIZ's product page also links official retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million and Bookshop.org if you prefer not to use Amazon. Once your set is sorted, here is where to start if you came from the anime.

Where to Start the Jujutsu Kaisen Manga After the Anime

Jujutsu Kaisen readers coming from the anime should start at Chapter 138 in Volume 16 after Season 2, or around Volume 20 to 21 after Season 3 Part 1. Here is the breakdown season by season:

  • Season 1 (2020–21, 24 episodes) ends at Chapter 63. Start at Chapter 64 in Volume 8.
  • Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021 film) adapts Volume 0, the prequel. Read it any time, ideally before Volume 1 or alongside Season 1.
  • Season 2 (2023, 23 episodes, Hidden Inventory/Premature Death and the Shibuya Incident) ends at Chapter 136 or 137, depending on the source. Both readings point to Chapter 138 in Volume 16 (Chapters 134–142).
  • Season 3: Culling Game Part 1 (12 episodes, January 9 to March 27, 2026) ends at the Sendai Colony fight. The exact last chapter is not settled: one chapter guide puts it at Chapter 181, and other sources imply a different point. Volume 20 (Chapters 172–180) is the safe pick with some overlap, and Volume 21 starts at Chapter 181.

For the anime side, including the Season 3 episode list and where Part 1 stops, see our Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Culling Game guide. If you only want what comes after the anime, Volumes 20 to 30 are fewer books than the whole box. If you want to reread from the start, the box set covers everything.

With the reading order sorted, here are the questions people ask most about the Jujutsu Kaisen manga in English.
