The Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 release date window ran from January 8 to March 26, 2026, across 28 MBS/TBS stations on the Super Animeism TURBO block, with MAPPA airing 12 episodes of The Culling Game Part 1. It starts in the wreckage of the Shibuya Incident, where a barrier dropped over Shibuya on October 31, 2018 and trapped civilians inside with curses, Kenjaku and Sukuna. Gojo is sealed, the body count is on Yuji's conscience, and the thousand-year-old schemer wearing Suguru Geto's face has already turned Japan into a killing game. The first person sent to end Yuji isn't a curse. It's special-grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu, and he has orders to kill.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Date and Global Streaming Schedule
Season 3 has finished airing and is streaming worldwide, and Season 4 (The Culling Game Part 2) was confirmed on March 26, 2026 with no date yet. That gap matters. Part 1 stops in the middle of the deadliest stretch of the manga, so now is the time to catch up before Part 2 lands.
MBS/TBS Super Animeism TURBO Airing & Episode Window

Crunchyroll is the main place to watch: it simulcast every episode with subtitles on the day of the Japanese broadcast, and its dubs followed later. Netflix is the second option. Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game Watch Order
Watch in release order. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel, but it works best after Season 1, because Season 3 assumes you know who Yuta is and why he's so dangerous.
- Season 1 (2020–2021, 24 episodes): Yuji swallows Sukuna's finger.
- Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (film, 2021): Yuta, Rika and Geto's first war.
- Season 2 (2023, 23 episodes): Hidden Inventory/Premature Death, then the Shibuya Incident.
- Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1 (2026, 12 episodes).
- Season 4: The Culling Game Part 2 (confirmed, date TBA).
The watch order is the easy part. The harder question is why Yuji starts Season 3 already sentenced to death.
From Shibuya Aftermath to the Culling Game: Plot & Stakes
The Jujutsu Kaisen Culling Game arc is a nationwide death match: ten barrier colonies spread across Japan, each filled with sorcerers forced to kill each other for points. Its architect, Kenjaku, reveals he once lived as Noritoshi Kamo, remembered as history's worst sorcerer, and he has spent a thousand years setting this up. With Gojo locked in the Prison Realm, nobody strong enough to stop him is left standing.
The rules are a trap. Players awakened by Kenjaku must score points by taking lives, and anyone who goes 19 days without scoring loses their cursed technique, which kills them. Kenjaku's real goal is bigger than a tournament: he wants to merge humanity with Tengen. Meanwhile the jujutsu higher-ups pin Shibuya on Yuji, name Gojo as an accomplice, and sentence Principal Yaga to death. Then Megumi learns that his sister Tsumiki has been awakened as a player, which forces him into the colonies.
Yuji vs. Yuta: The Executioner's Blade
Yuta Okkotsu is hunting Yuji Itadori because the higher-ups appointed him Yuji's executioner after Shibuya. On paper, Yuji vs. Yuta makes no sense. Both carry a monstrous curse, Rika for Yuta and Sukuna for Yuji. Both were sentenced to death by the same elders. Both were students Gojo personally protected. Now one has orders to kill the other.
Choso stands by his "little brother" anyway, and Megumi tells Yuji plainly that he needs him back and can't save Tsumiki alone. When Yuta's blade finally lands, the fight turns into a question of loyalty: whose orders is Yuta actually following, the elders' or Gojo's? The answer sets up Yuji's next problem. He's alive, but every colony is full of strangers who want his points.

That's the cast. The next question is where Part 1 sits in Gege Akutami's manga, and where Part 2 will pick up.
Manga Source Material: Where the Culling Game Arc Takes Over
Season 2 ended at Chapter 136, so Season 3 starts at Chapter 137. The first stretch covers three linked arcs: Itadori's Extermination (Chapters 137–143), Perfect Preparation (Chapters 144–158) and the start of the Culling Game proper from Chapter 159. Part 1 stops at the Sendai Colony fight, so manga readers who want to keep going should continue from the end of the Sendai Colony battle.
Director Shota Goshozono, who directed Shibuya, and scriptwriter Hiroshi Seko, who has written the series since Season 1, handle the colonies like a series of short horror stories. By our estimate, Part 1 adapts more than 40 chapters in 12 episodes, so the first few episodes move quickly through the execution and recruitment arcs and the back half slows down for Tokyo Colony No. 1 and Sendai. King Gnu returns for the opening, "AIZO", and jo0ji performs the ending, "Yoake no Uta".
Part 1 ends with the Culling Game far from finished, Kenjaku still ahead of everyone, and Sukuna still inside Yuji.
