With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess Season 2 premiered on Thursday, October 1, 2026: Kizu Darake Seijo yori Houfuku wo Komete (傷だらけ聖女より報復をこめて) returned at 24:00 JST on tvk, with CBC TV following the next night and streaming in Japan on top. Most saintess stories are about a heroine who forgives. Lua Restoat's healing works differently: every wound she heals moves onto her own body, so the kinder she is, the more broken she gets. The court laughed at her as a defective saintess, and then her best friend Arian betrayed her. Season 2 is where Lua, with Second Prince Sven at her side, stops pretending to be a saint at all and starts using the ability she kept hidden.

With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess Season 2 Release Date & Streaming Guide

Season 1 aired from July to September 2025 with 12 episodes. It's a "light anime", a shorter, more limited style of TV anime that leans on the source's art, and Season 2 continues in the same format.

The Season 2 episode count hasn't been announced. Season 1 ran 12 episodes, so a similar single-cour run would be a reasonable guess, but treat that as a guess until it's confirmed.

That's when and where. What makes people come back every week is how Lua gets even.

Lua & Sven Villainess Revenge: From Defective Saintess to Ruthless Villainess

The whole story rests on Lua's power and what it costs her. A saintess is supposed to heal, and Lua can. But instead of making wounds disappear, she takes them on herself. Every patient she saves leaves her a little more scarred. That's why the court calls her a defective saintess: from the outside, her miracle looks like a failure.

Arian is the reason the story turns dark. In public she's Lua's sweet, supportive best friend; in private she's the one who pushed Lua to the edge. The gap between the two faces is the series' engine. Viewers know exactly what Arian is long before the court does, and waiting for the moment that changes is half the fun.

Sven is the other half of the equation. The Second Prince offers Lua what she can't get alone: royal backing, access and protection. He doesn't do it out of pity. He's calculating, he has his own reasons, and the pact between them is closer to an alliance between two people who both want something than a fairy-tale rescue. That's why their scenes work. Lua brings the pain, and Sven brings the plan.

Why do stories like this keep getting more popular? Villainess and revenge webtoons give readers the payoff that classic saintess stories hold back: the heroine doesn't have to be patient, gracious or forgiving. She gets to be angry, and she gets to win. Season 2 leans into that completely.

Of course, revenge in a royal court is never just between two people.

Webtoon vs. Anime: SORAJIMA's Viral Vertical Hit

With Vengeance, Sincerely, Your Broken Saintess is a vertical-scroll webtoon, with the original story by Aminohada (編乃肌) and art by SORAJIMA. It has run in Japan since August 2022 on Piccoma, comico and Mecha Comic, and Ichijinsha publishes the print edition, with Volume 4 due on October 16, 2026. In English, it's available digitally from Pocket Comics.

SORAJIMA's art is a big part of why it caught on. The webtoon format plays to its strengths: full-color character close-ups, ornate court fashion and those slow vertical reveals where a smile turns into something else as you scroll. The light-anime adaptation keeps that look front and center rather than redrawing it in a typical TV-anime style.

Season 1 covered Lua's fall and the start of her pact with Sven. Season 2 moves from that personal betrayal into the wider politics of the court, with First Prince Sarid, his fiancée Diana and the Peridot household entering the story. If you want to read ahead, the webtoon is the place to do it; the exact chapter where Season 2 starts hasn't been confirmed, but picking up from the events after Lua's pact with Sven will put you in the right area.

The art on the page is one thing. Making it move and sound right is another.

Production Values & Theme Music: Imagica Infos & Juice=Juice

Season 2 is animated by Imagica Infos and Imageworks Studio, with Saya Fukase taking over as director from Season 1's Chisaki. The audio side stays the same: Yuichi Imaizumi directs the sound, and onoken returns to compose the score.

For the theme songs, the opening is "Kareinaru Revenger" by Juice=Juice. The ending is "Nagi no Soko" (凪の底) by Tsuki Ou Kanata, a three-piece guitar rock band from Kitakyushu, and it's a gentle, aching ballad that sits well against a story this sharp. Season 1 opened with "DiZZY" by Reina Washio.
