Season 1 was about Lufas Maphaahl, the Black-Winged Tyrant, waking up 200 years after her defeat and gathering back what was hers. Season 2 is what happens when the board stops cooperating. A Wild Last Boss Appeared Season 2 Release Date, Simulcast & English Dub Status

Season 2 airs weekly on Saturdays at 22:30 JST on TOKYO MX from October 3, 2026, alongside BS Asahi and Kansai TV. Streaming got there first: ABEMA and U-NEXT in Japan began a week early, on September 26, the same pattern Season 1 used in 2025.

WAO World returns to animate it, with director Yuya Horiuchi, series composer Kazuyuki Fudeyasu and character designer Maiko Ebisawa all back from Season 1. The opening theme is "Melodic Impact" by Suspended 4th, and the ending is "Yurete Skirt" by Chakura.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared Where to Watch: Simulcast Platforms

Outside Japan, Crunchyroll is the place to watch. It added Season 2 to its Fall 2026 lineup with the early September 26 start, and Season 1's 12 episodes are already there if you need to catch up. Season 1 landed on Saturday mornings in the Americas and Saturday afternoon in Europe, so expect a similar weekly slot, and check the series page in your region for the exact time.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared English Dub Rollout and Availability

This is the question we see most, so here's the straight answer: no English dub has been announced for Season 2. Season 1 got Crunchyroll dubs in German, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, but not in English, and nothing in Season 2's announcements changes that. For now, English-speaking fans are watching with subtitles. If Crunchyroll announces an English dub, it will usually say so on the series page and its news site, and we'll update this guide.

Sub or dub, the reason to watch Season 2 is the cast it adds, and it adds a lot.

A Wild Last Boss Appeared Season 2 Characters: The 12 Heavenly Stars and Demon Kin

Lufas's returning party is still here: Ami Koshimizu as Lufas, Yuri Usui as Dina, plus Aries, Libra, Aigokeros, Parthenos and Virgo from Season 1. Here's who is new.

The Twelve Heavenly Stars. Lufas's twelve generals, each named for a sign of the zodiac and each strong enough to threaten a nation alone. Some still serve her. Some don't.

Karkinos (CV: Ryota Suzuki)

Karkinos

The Crab of the Twelve Heavenly Stars and one of Lufas's level-800 generals, built around defense. In human form he looks more like a laid-back waiter than a war beast, which is exactly the point.

Scorpius (CV: Chiaki Takahashi)

Scorpius

The Scorpion of the Twelve, and one of the most dangerous. Her devotion to Lufas is as intense as her poison, and that's not always a comfort.

Castor (CV: Takahiro Sakurai)

Castor

One half of the Gemini, and one of the generals Lufas still has to find. Sakurai gives him a calm voice that hides a lot.

Leon (CV: Akio Otsuka)

Leon

The Lion of the Twelve, and the one who never accepted that Lufas's era was over. He has gone his own way, and Season 2 is where that becomes everyone's problem.

Sagittarius (CV: Atsushi Miyauchi)

Sagittarius

The Archer of the Twelve, a hooded centaur who fights from range and rarely wastes a word.

The Seven Heroes and their creations. The heroes who sealed Lufas are still around, and so is their work.

Mizar (CV: Shinpachi Tsuji)

Mizar

A dwarf smith and one of the Seven Heroes who brought Lufas down 200 years ago. He is also the craftsman behind Libra, which makes any meeting with Lufas complicated.

Mass-Produced Libra (CV: Momoko Seto)

Mass-Produced Libra

Copies built on Libra's design. Lufas's loyal golem general was meant to be one of a kind, and these maids are proof that someone disagreed.

The Demon King's Seven Luminaries and royalty. While humans and Lufas's old generals circle each other, Demon King Orm (Sho Hayami) and his forces make their move.

Terra (CV: Yuichiro Umehara)

Terra

The son of Demon King Orm, composed and calculating, and the face of the demonkin's next generation.

Luna (CV: M・A・O)

Luna

One of the Demon King's Seven Luminaries, the generals named after the heavens, who prefers striking from the shadows.

Mercurius (CV: Shuhei Sakaguchi)

Mercurius

Another of the Seven Luminaries, and one of the commanders behind the demonkin's moves this season.

That's a lot of power on one map. The person most worth watching this season, though, is the one who seems least dangerous.

Is Dina Evil? The Goddess Alovenus Mystery Explained

"Is Dina evil?" is one of the most searched questions about this series, and it's easy to see why. Dina is Lufas's self-described strategist, who turns up almost as soon as Lufas wakes and has organized almost everything since. She's helpful, upbeat and always a step ahead, and that last part is the problem.

The anime keeps giving you small reasons to look twice. Dina knows things about Midgard and about Lufas's past that no ordinary adviser should know, she rarely explains how, and her smile doesn't always match what's happening in the scene. Lufas herself has her doubts, and the show lets you notice them.

Then there's Goddess Alovenus, sometimes shortened to Venus by fans. She's the goddess at the center of Midgard's faith, the one the world credits with its order. The story keeps circling back to the idea that the war against Lufas 200 years ago wasn't only the Seven Heroes' idea. Who, or what, was behind it is one of the series' biggest questions.

Is there a link between Dina and Alovenus? That's where we stop. The light novels do answer it, and the answer reframes the whole story, so we're not spoiling it here. The short version: the anime is planting those questions on purpose, so it's worth keeping an eye on Dina every time she smiles.

If you can't wait for the anime, the answers are already in print.

Light Novel & Manga Guide: Where Season 2 Starts in the Story

A Wild Last Boss Appeared! started as a web novel by Firehead (炎頭) and was published as a light novel by Earth Star Entertainment, with illustrations by YahaKo. The light novel series is complete. In English, J-Novel Club publishes both the light novels and the manga adaptation.

Season 1 covered the first three volumes of the light novel, so if you want to read ahead of Season 2, start at Volume 4. Manga readers can pick up from manga Volume 4.

From there, Season 2's story moves in three directions: Lufas tracking down the Heavenly Stars who haven't come back to her, the conflict around Leon and the beastkin, and the growing collision with the Demon King's forces. Mizar and Mass-Produced Libra are where that story gets personal, because they connect Lufas's generals to the heroes who sealed her. The episode count for Season 2 hasn't been announced, so it's too early to say which volume it ends on.
